Gas prices in western Pennsylvania have continued to sink lower both regionally and locally over the last week.
According to AAA’s weekly gas price report, the average price for a gallon of regular, unleaded, self-serve in Butler, as of Monday, is $2.06 per gallon which is eight cents cheaper compared to last week.
Prices dropped by two cents across western Pennsylvania as a whole this week, averaging $2.12 per gallon. The cheapest gas in the area can be found in New Castle at $1.78 per gallon, while the most expensive is $2.24 in Uniontown.
The average national gas price declined once again, this time by five cents to $1.81 which is over a dollar cheaper per gallon than it was this date last year. AAA expects prices to continue to drop as refinery rates decline and the price of crude oil moved into the negative on Monday.
