The Pennsylvania Game Commission plans to implement recommendations from Pennsylvania’s Auditor General.
Although the recent audit by the AG’s Office did not reveal any misappropriation of funds, over 40 recommendations were made to ensure sound and transparent fiscal management.
Auditor Eugene DePasquale called a Game Commission general fund budget of over $72 million “very high”. The Auditor General also pointed out that the Game Commission was not keeping proper oversight on escrow accounts with nearly $7 million from oil and gas drilling companies.
One recommendation that the Game Commission does not plan to implement involves counting the salaries and benefits of employees devoted to habitat improvement as money spent on habitat improvement. The Game Commission will continue to do so.
