Another resurgence of the bird flu has led to an estimated 5,000 snow geese in Eastern PA dying.
The Game Commission says the highly pathogenic avian influenza is impacting more birds now—the latest case in Northampton County.
The highly contagious virus continues to be a danger to wild birds along with poultry farms.
Game Commission officials meanwhile confirmed they received a call about a sick goose spotted in the Slippery Rock area. When officials got to the area, the goose had died. It’s being tested for the avian flu.
A Game Commission spokesperson says they do not identify specific areas where the animals are found.
