The Pennsylvania Game Commission has finalized changes to a program that helps farmers address crop damage issues through the hunting of antlerless deer.
Four changes to the Agricultural Deer Control Permit Program were given final approval at the Commission’s meeting last week.
The first change will eliminate the requirement of owners to supply a deed or lease agreement. Second, the rule limiting hunters to four ag tag permits has also been eliminated.
Third, the number of days that ag tags could be used will be more than doubled. Finally, during overlaps with established hunting seasons, only those sporting arms will be permitted.
These changes will take effect when they are published in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, which usually takes about six weeks.
