Emergency response crews from around the Butler County area were busy with a few crashes Friday afternoon.
A call came into the Butler County 911 Center shortly before 1 p.m. for a tractor trailer fire on Route 228 in Middlesex Township. A portion of that road needed to be shut down for about an hour while crews were on the scene following a tire blowout.
Just after 2 p.m. crews were called to Mahood Road in Clay Township for a two vehicle crash with injury. Crews from West Sunbury and Butler Ambulance were among those arriving on the scene to find a man lying on the ground. His condition is unknown at this time.
Finally, an accident on West Route 422 shortly before 4 p.m. resulted in traffic backups from the Mercer overpass to Bon Air. The cause of the crash and number of vehicles involved are currently unknown.
