A former longtime Butler business owner has died.
Mary Lou Pepper passed away in Florida yesterday. Pepper was best known as the owner and operator of Pepper’s Flowers in downtown Butler.
The business was started in 1941 by her parents Clarice and Harry—who was a former mayor of Butler.
She also became a registered nurse after graduating from BC3 in 1998 and joined a travel nursing program that sent her around the United States, before eventually settling at a hospital in Leesburg, Florida where she retired.
A celebration of life will be held for Mary Lou at a later date.
Mary Lou Pepper was 78.
