The Butler City home destroyed by fire on Monday has been torn down.
Building Code Official Johns Evans said the city declared the East Brady Street home a site specific state of emergency because of how badly damaged it was. The city fire department then took over- contracting with a demolition company to tear down the two-story structure.
There is still clean-up to be done at the site. East Brady Street is open to traffic but it may have to be temporarily closed as crews continue to haul away the debris.
