With students set to return to campus this fall, the National Fire Protection Association and The Center of Campus Fire Safety is urging students to remember the importance of campus fire safety.
In fact, September begins Campus Fire Safety Month and the NFPA and CCFS are working together in an annual campaign to help raise awareness about the threat of fire, at both on and off campus housing.
According to the latest data from the NFPA, there’s just shy of 4,000 structure fires in dormitories, fraternities, sororities, and other related properties each year.
9 out of 10 involved cooking equipment.
