It’s that time of year again– the annual ‘Living Dead Weekend’ in Evans City.
The three-day event starts at noon Friday, and this year, will celebrate the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic films of all time: “Night of the Living Dead.”
The festival is held in Evans City because much of the film was set and filmed in the borough, and several of the crew and actors were local. Several activities are associated with the event, including ‘location tours’ where visitors are taken to the many spots were the film was made.
The film was written and directed by George Romero, who died in 2017 at the age of 77.
