There will a national emergency alert test sent out later this afternoon.
According to FEMA and the FCC, people will hear the alert on TVs, radios, and cell phones at 2:20 p.m. today.
The emergency test is expected to last for about a minute.
The agencies say that preparation for the national test has been in the works for the past year.
