It’s been over a week since heavy rainfall caused problems throughout the county- and at least one local town is still cleaning up from the damage.
The borough of Evans City has extended its disaster declaration until Tuesday. Additional dumpsters will arrive this weekend and continue to be in place for residents to dispose of trash and debris from the storm.
“We want to be able to provide continued support, quickly, to borough residents,” said Dan Cox, the director of the Connoquenessing Valley Regional Emergency Management Agency.
The dumpsters- located near the intersection of North Washington Street and Dunbar Avenue by the VFW- will be collected on Monday.
Heavy rain and winds moved through the area last Tuesday and Wednesday, knocking down trees and flooding homes and businesses.
