A man is facing charges after he allegedly stole thousands of dollars from his employer.
On Oct. 24, State Police were called to Cox Automotive for a theft of $7,300. The owner of the business said he left money on his desk overnight and when he returned the next day the money was gone.
Police interviewed the alleged suspect on scene, 33-year-old Chad Wimer, who initially said he returned to the shop late that night but did not see the money.
However, Wimer later admitted to the business owner he took the money and tried to return $3,900 saying it was all he had left. It’s also alleged Wimer took several tools.
He has been charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He’s awaiting a preliminary hearing.
