After a major accident earlier this week on I-79, Cranberry Township firefighters are asking drivers to be aware of ongoing construction.
The six vehicle accident Tuesday morning near the Evans City on-ramp was third over the past couple of weeks that crews have responded to.
Construction on the bridge over North Boundary Road has reduced traffic to one lane, and that is causing significant backup.
Cranberry firefighters are encouraging drivers to take it easy in that area and to follow the rules of the road. That includes using both lanes to the merge point and making sure everyone takes their turn.
They add that while no one likes sitting in traffic, a little patience and courtesy can help prevent accidents.
