East Stroudsburg head football coach Denny Douds retired Saturday after 45 years. Douds was given a fourth timeout at the end of the team’s game with Ohio Dominican and announced his decision to the team. Douds, a Slippery Rock University graduate, has been with East Stroudsburg for 53 years, and is the all-time leader in games coached with 471 at the Division II level. His 264 career wins are a PSAC record.
The first College Football Playoff rankings of the season were released last night. Alabama is number one followed by Clemson, LSU and Notre Dame. LSU will host Alabama Saturday. Penn State is 14th in the playoff rankings. West Virginia is 13th.
