No one was hurt in a chain-reaction crash this week in Butler Township near a construction zone.
The four-vehicle accident happened Monday afternoon (about 4:30 p.m.) on Route 422 East, near the Lyndora exit.
According to Butler Township Police, 35-year-old Timothy Shick of Clarion County was traveling east in the left lane when he failed to stop his pickup truck.
Shick’s truck crashed into the back of a car that was stopped in traffic prior to the road construction. That caused a chain-reaction involving two more vehicles- one of which was a tractor trailer.
One of the four drivers sustained a minor injury and was taken to Butler Memorial for treatment. All others were not hurt.
Shick was cited for speeding and failing to have his vehicle registered.
Crews are currently working on a big paving project on Route 422 in Butler and Summit townships. The project includes resurfacing 6.5 miles of the road. Traffic is down to one lane in each direction at all times.
