The Boston Red Sox defeated the Houston Astros 8-2 Tuesday to take a 2-1 series lead in the American League Championship Series. Former Pirate Steve Pearce broke a 2-2 tie with a home run in the sixth inning, then Red Sox outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. blew the game open with an eighth inning grand slam. Game Four is tonight in Houston at 8:39pm. It will be televised on TBS. Another former Pirate, Charlie Morton, will start for the Astros tonight. He went 15-3 in the regular season.
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 in 14-innings last night to tie the National League Championship Series at 2-2. The Brewers bullpen went 13-innings after starting pitcher Gio Gonzalez left the game after one inning with an injury. Game Five is today at 5:05pm. See the game on FS1.
The game featured a bench-clearing incident in the 10th inning when Dodgers infielder Manny Machado appeared to intentionally kick at Brewers first-baseman Jesus Aguilar.
