Bryson DeChambeau won his second U.S. Open with a one-stroke victory over Rory McIlroy Sunday in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Central Catholic graduate Neal Shipley finished the U.S. Open as the low amateur. It was his final tournament before turning pro. Shipley had also been the low amateur at this year’s Masters in April. He is just the sixth golfer to become the low amateur at both majors.
Lilia Vu defeated Lexi Thompson and Grace Kim on the third playoff hole to win the LPGA stop in Belmont, Michigan.
