Butler County is receiving state grant money in order to help address homelessness in local communities.
The Department of Community and Economic Development recently announced that Butler County Commissioners will receive $300,000 through the Emergency Solutions Grant Program.
The County applied for this grant on behalf of The Care Center, Catholic Charities, and Glade Run Warming Shelter. Those organizations will use the money for rapid rehousing, homelessness prevention, emergency shelter operations, and housing case management.
A total of 21 Pennsylvania municipalities and nonprofit organizations will receive nearly $6 million in federal funding through this program.
