The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 last night in a shoot-out at PPG Paints Arena. Sidney Crosby scored both Penguins goals in the game.
The Pens snapped a five-game losing streak against Carolina. Crosby opened the scoring with his 19th goal of the season in the first period, and was the only player to score in the shoot-out for the victory.
The Pens visit Ottawa Saturday night prior to the Christmas break. They will return from the break with a visit to the New York Islanders next Wednesday.
