Motorists should be aware of an accident in Cranberry Township that has resulted in a road closure as well as power being knocked out to some residents.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center just before 2 p.m. Thursday for a garbage truck that snapped a utility pole and pulled down power lines on Garvin Road.
Cranberry Police and Fire Department responded to the scene to find the driver entrapped in the vehicle with wires down on the truck. The driver is not believed to have been injured.
Garvin Road has been closed between Ehrman Road and Center Oak Drive until further notice to allow for the scene to be cleared and repairs to be made. Nearly 200 local Penn Power customers have been left without electricity. Repairs are expected to be made by 6:30 p.m.
