Butler County’s treasurer is taking on the role of tax collectors for some boroughs as local municipalities struggle to find someone for the role.
Commissioners last week approved a monetary stipend for Diane Marburger’s office to collect taxes for at least five boroughs with more possibly added to the list.
This is a similar policy that the county adopted in previous years, and no additional staff will be needed for the treasurer’s office.
However, commissioners say they are hoping for more people to step into the tax collector position.
