A trial for a homicide in the City of Butler back in 2021 begins today.
38-year-old Hassan Brack will be in court today after being accused of shooting and killing 31-year-old Hakeem Morgan on College Street in Butler in December 2021. The alleged murder happened during an attempted drug robbery. Police used video evidence and DNA to connect Brack to the murder.
Attorneys for Brack argued that parts of the evidence show prejudice, some evidence is inauthentic, and say there is testimony by witnesses they say are now not available to testify. Rulings by Judge Timothy McCune are expected to be made before the trial.
The trial is set to begin at 9 a.m. at the Butler County Courthouse.
Brack is facing several charges including criminal homicide, burglary, and conspiracy.
