The City of Butler recognized the charitable efforts of two local organizations with a proclamation issued during a Butler City Council meeting on Thursday.
Both the Butler Rotary and the Butler AM Rotary each received special recognition through the proclamation, which drew attention to activities like various fundraisers, playground repairs, leadership programs and scholarships. The Butler Rotary was formed in 1920, while the Butler AM Rotary will celebrate their 22nd anniversary next month.
The groups are also working together on initiatives such as the city’s summer swim program in which about 50 kids per week receive transportation to Alameda Pool in Butler Township using funds raised by the rotary groups.
