The City of Butler is asking residents to be careful about what is put into municipal storm sewers.
Paint brushes should be cleaned in a sink and not outdoors. Also excess paint should be disposed of through a household hazardous waste collection program or donated to local organizations.
Construction debris such as concrete and mortar should be swept and disposed of properly; not dumped into a storm sewer. Anyone working with or touching construction materials containing chemicals should wear hand, eye, and ear protection.
City residents with questions about proper waste disposal should contact the Butler City Building for more information.
