Butler City Council has increased the number of full-time firefighters on their force.
At a meeting late last week, council approved the promotion of three part-time firefighters (Joshua Carlini, Bradley Sabolcik and Larry Shuler) to full-time members of the department.
This brings the number of full-time Butler City Firefighters to 21, which is expected to reduce the need for overtime in the department.
The money to pay for the increased staffing will come from a three-year Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response, or SAFER, grant.
