The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler is selling a couple of long vacant properties in the city of Butler.
At their monthly meeting Thursday afternoon, the authority sold the Wishing Well property vacant lot at the corner of 150 South Main Street as well as the former Peppers Flowers building at 112 West Cunningham Street to Joseph and Lori Wiest for nearly $17,000.
This money will be paid to NexTier Bank in order to satisfy a debt of over $100,000 owed on these properties by the Authority when they were purchased between 10 and 20 years ago with a goal of constructing an office complex.
The Authority did not have any information about the possible plans of the seller for the property and the Wiests could not be immediately reached for comment.
