The City of Butler has a new treasurer.
Aaron Bonus was appointed by Butler City Council to finish the term of former Treasurer John Grenci, which expires in January of 2020. Grenci resigned earlier this month because he moved out of the city.
Councilman Kenny Bonus abstained from the vote since he is Aaron’s brother. No one else expressed interest in the position to council.
Aaron Bonus received enough write-in votes during last month’s primary election to appear as the only candidate on this fall’s general election ballot for city treasurer. If he is elected then, he would continue in the position through January of 2024.
