The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-24 in overtime last night in the Monday Night Football Game. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdown passes in the game, and running back Kareem Hunt rushed for 106 yards scored the game-winning touchdown on the first possession of the overtime. Baker Mayfield led the Bucs on an 11-play drive to tie the game with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game. Kansas City improved to 8-0. Tampa Bay fell to 4-5.
The New Orleans Saints fired coach Dennis Allen on Monday. The Saints lost to last-place Carolina Sunday and have now dropped seven games in a row. It’s the franchise’s longest skid since 1999. Allen was 18-25 without a playoff appearance since taking over in 2022 after Sean Payton.
Allen was also fired during the 2014 season by the Oakland Raiders after a poor start to their season.
The NFL trade deadline is 4pm today.
