With the warm weather in store for today, Central Electric Cooperative is issuing a peak alert.
They ask that residents conserve power today by turning off non-essential electric items and raising your thermostat a few degrees to help conserve energy.
You should also shift the use of items such as dehumidifiers, pool pumps, and electric appliances to hours outside of the peak period—which is 1-7 p.m.
CEC officials say that by “decreasing electricity used during high-demand periods — when prices are at their highest — everyone can help stabilize future power costs for all members.”
