The Carnegie Science Center is marking the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing with a weekend full of special events.
First, on Friday from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. adults 18 and older are welcome to join in the Apollo Moonshot Celebration. The evening will include special presentations about Pittsburgh’s contributions to the Apollo program as well as music, stargazing, lunar science demonstrations, a new planetarium show, and a cash bar featuring Tang flash-frozen in liquid nitrogen. Tickets are $50 and include a commemorative glass.
Then on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the whole family is invited to Space Out Astronomy Weekend with special presentations, hands-on activities, and a real meteorite. All activities are included with general admission tickets.
