Butler Township is undertaking an effort to make sure residents are receiving adequate fire service protection.
At their meeting earlier this week, the Commissioners voted to engage Delta Development Corporation as a consultant in the amount of nearly $36,000 for a fire service study.
A committee made up of Township Fire Chief Scott Frederick, Township Manager Tom Knights, Township Commissioners, and members of the Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department will take a closer look at how coverage is managed throughout the Township.
The public is also expected to have the opportunity to provide input. After about four months, the consultant will collect and present the findings and recommendations in a report available to the public.
