A local man is facing felony charges following a domestic violence incident earlier this week downtown.
According to a criminal complaint, Butler City Police were called to West Jefferson Street shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday after a neighbor reported screaming and a woman bleeding from the head.
Police allege that 53-year-old Leo Mullen broke a glass bottle of vodka over his wife’s head after she confronted him about possible drug use. She needed to be taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of cuts to the head, arm, and leg.
Mullen was charged with felony aggravated assault as well as simple assault.
