The 4×800 relay team of Chesna Tomko, Maggie Welty, Erin LeMay and Liz Simms started the day with a first place finish. Liz Simms was a power house again – helping the team with her second placed finish in the 800 and anchoring three relay teams – including the gold medal winning 4×800 and 4×400 teams. With every point important, Freshmen Chesna Tomko had a huge day, placing 7th in the 400 and was a part of the winning 4×400 and 4×800 relays and also running on the 4×200 relay. Senior Maggie Welty place 5th in the Mile as well as ran key legs on the 4×800 and Distance Medley.
The Pennsylvania Indoor State Championships are next Sunday, February 25th, at Penn State University. State qualifiers are to be announced Monday. The Girl’s have surpassed the qualifying stands in the 4×800 relay, 4×400 relay and 4×200 relay. Individually, Liz Simms has ran the qualifying time in the 800 and Jena Reinheimer has surpassed the qualifying standard in the shot put.
