The Butler Area School Board will take action on an offer made for the former Oakland Township Elementary School property at a meeting Wednesday night.
According to District solicitor Tom King, the board is expected to ratify an agreement to sell the facility to Robert Oesterling for $200,000. Oesterling owns Kingdom Vapor Wholesale in Clarion and is expected to use the property as a warehouse facility.
If a majority of the board supports the sale, a hearing will be held before Judge S. Michael Yeager on August 18th at 2 p.m. Any other prospective buyers would have the opportunity to make bids on the property at that time. King says there have been additional calls from people with interest in the facility.
The board previously entered into a sales agreement for Oakland with local businessman Monty Edgar but after the district spent over $10,000 to learn more about water problems, that agreement was dissolved. Any buyer of the property now will be solely responsible for the water situation at the facility.
