The Butler Area Public Library is providing an incentive for local residents to help those in need.
In exchange for the donation of non-perishable, non-expired food item as part of the Butler SUCCEED Stick a Fork in Hunger! IZE on Food Security project, the library will issue the donor a $1 credit toward overdue fines.
IZE week, observed October 17th through 23rd, is a week to REALIZE, EMPATHIZE, and MOBILIZE regarding local food issues. This collection and overdue fine credit offer will continue until October 22nd. Fine forgiveness credits expire at the end of this year.
The Butler Area Public Library will be closed on Monday to allow for a staff in-service training day.
