The Butler Transit Authority has submitted a list of capital projects that they are asking the state of Pennsylvania to authorize.
According to Authority Executive Director John Paul, at the top of the list is a $1.5 million project to design and const a multi-modal terminal facility.
Additional projects needing state funding include new software, an upgrade of a current system that tracks buses and passengers, and automatic tire chains for buses. The authority also hopes to construct two shelters on Whitestown Road, as well as replace four others (Lyndora, South Side, Park Manor and Woody Drive).
It is unknown when PennDOT will respond to these funding requests but it is expected to be sometime this fall.
