The head of the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese will undergo spinal surgery.
Bishop David Zubik is scheduled to undergo a spinal fusion Monday at UPMC Mercy Hospital. The diocese says the procedure is intended to address continuing problems with collapsing disks.
Following his surgery, the bishop will not attend public functions while he recovers.
