A bill aimed at slowing down motorists in highway work zones is headed to the governor’s desk.
The bill would allow the use of cameras to monitor the speed of vehicles through construction zones and issue tickets to violators.
A first offense would result in a written warning, with fines for subsequent offenses as high as $150.
The bill has been on a four-year journey with about half a dozen revisions in the Senate and the House.
