As the new semester gets underway at Butler County Community College, an administrator is stepping into a new role.
Julia Carney has been chosen as the next dean of BC3’s Shaffer School of Nursing and Allied Health.
After graduating with degrees in nursing, Carney spent 12 years at UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh before joining BC3 in 2013 as a part-time instructor and transitioning to assistant dean in 2020.
Carney will also manage a higher-education partnership with Grove City College and a workforce partnership with Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.
Carney takes over for Dr. Patty Annear who was named director and chair of Grove City College’s Nursing Program in October.
