On the heels of Butler County President Judge Tom Doerr announcing his retirement at the end of the year, that means a spot is open on the ballot this spring for the county’s Court of Common Pleas.
Local attorney Joe Kubit is one of the first to announce his candidacy. The 58-year-old attorney from Cabot declared he was seeking the seat last Friday. Kubit has been practicing law in Butler since 1992—and was named partner of his firm in 1998.
Kubit has served as a past president of the Butler County Bar Association and currently is the board president of Butler County Community College.
The spring primary is May 18th.
