Bear hunting season begins in earnest this weekend.
This Saturday marks the beginning of archery bear season across the entire Commonwealth.
Archery season runs until November 9th, which then leads into firearms bear season. Which runs briefly from November 23-26.
Over 200,000 people are expected to participate in bear hunting season. However, it’s still a long shot to harvest a bear.
Hunters were able to harvest just shy of 3,000 bears in 2023.
