Acura dominated the debut of hybrid engines in North American sports car racing with a 1-2 finish at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where Helio Castroneves and the automaker won the prestigious endurance race for a third consecutive year.
The Nascar season begins with “The Clash” exhibition race this Sunday in Los Angeles.
Castroneves announced in the last week that he will not be driving in the February 19th Daytona 500. He had put together a race deal with a small team, but feels he needs more experience in a Cup Series car before he takes on the “Great American Race.
