Fox Chapel, PA- Butler Boy’s Basketball 2017-2018 season comes to a close this afternoon with a 73-66 loss to the Latrobe Wildcats, in the open round of the W.P.I.A.L. 6-A Boy’s Playoff Tournament. Latrobe led this game from start to finish, after the first quarter Butler trailed 15-10. At he half, Latrobe led 29-22 and after three quarters, Latrobe still led 49-43. In the middle of the fourth quarter Butler pulled even with Latrobe at 59-59 with two straight baskets by Sophomore Ethan Morton. On Butlers’ very next possession, sophomore Mason Montag got fouled, went to the free throw line, made one of two foul shots to put Butler ahead 60-59 with just under two minutes left in the game. After the fouls shots by Montag, Latrobe came down the court, hit a three pointer to retake the lead and never looked back. Leading scorer for Butler was Ethan Morton with 20 points. Butler finishes the season 18-5. Congratulations on the great season to the Butler Boy’s Basketball team and to all the seniors!
