Jameson Taillon, pitched a complete game and the Pittsburgh Pirates hit three homers in a 10-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.
Taillon allowed 10 hits in his second complete game of the season. Taillon struck out three and walked one, helping the Pirates stop a three-game slide.
Starling Marte hit a solo home run in the first, and Jordy Mercer connected for a three-run homer in the fourth.
Josh Harrison capped the Pirates’ five-run fifth with a two-run homer.
The Pirates finish the series this afternoon against Colorado at 3:10. Chris Archer pitches for the Bucs.
The Pirates placed infielder Sean Rodriguez on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with strained left abdomen. The move makes room for infielder Adeiny Hechavarria. The Pirates acquired Hechavarria from the Texas Rangers on Monday.
Rodriguez, 33, is hitting .163 this season. He also was put on the disabled list June 27 with a right quadriceps strain.
Also, the Pirates added to their Triple-A depth when they acquired left-handed pitcher Buddy Boshers off waivers from the Houston Astros.
