The Pittsburgh Penguins host the Las Vegas Golden Knights tonight at PPG Paints Arena. It is the first trip to Pittsburgh for the new expansion team, who have the best record in the Western Conference. Tonight’s game also features the return of former Pens goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, who spent 13 seasons in a Pittsburgh uniform. Fleury is currently second overall in the NHL in goals against average (1.84) and save percentage (.939). Face-off is 7pm. WISR will join the game following Knoch basketball.
The Pens have won a season-high seven consecutive games at PPG Paints Arena.
The Pens will be without winger Patric Hornqvist, whose status was downgraded Monday from “day-to-day” to “week-to-week” with a “lower body injury”. Winger Conor Sheary has the same status.
Evgeni Malkin was named the NHL’s “First Star” for last week. Malkin had six goals and two assists. He has scored goals in four consecutive games.
