The Butler BlueSox lost to Kokomo 11-4 last night. The Jackrabbits pounded BlueSox pitching for 20 hits in the game. The Sox visit Champion City tonight.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired infielder Manny Machado from the Baltimore Orioles. The Dodgers sent five prospects to Baltimore. The 26-year old four-time All-Star is batting .315 this season with 24 home runs. L.A. had lost their starting shortstop, Corey Seager, to a season-ending elbow injury in May.
Milwaukee Brewers reliever Josh Hader has been required by Major League Baseball to undergo sensitivity training for years-old racist and homophobic tweets that resurfaced during the All-Star game this week. Several of Hader’s tweets from 2011 and 2012 came to light while he was pitching in the game Tuesday.
