Jimmy Gillam of Altoona is carrying a two-stroke lead into today’s final round of the West Penn Open championship at Oakmont Country Club. Gillam, from the Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg, shot a -2 under 68 during the second round Tuesday. Evan Long of the Castle Hills Golf Course in New Castle is at +3 over. Four players are tied at +4 over. Oakview’s Rob McClellan missed the cut after an 81 Tuesday.
The 147th annual British Open begins tomorrow in Scotland. Television coverage will being on the Golf Channel at 1:30am tomorrow morning.
