The Pittsburgh Pirates pulled a dramatic come-from-behind 7-6 victory in ten innings over the Milwaukee Brewers Sunday at PNC Park. The win gave the Bucs a five-game series sweep. The Pirates managed just one hit, a Corey Dickerson two-run home run, through the first seven innings of the game. after falling behind 5-2, the Pirates tied the game in the ninth inning, and outscored Milwaukee 2-1 in the 10th. It was their sixth victory in a row, moving them to one game under .500 at the All-Star break.
Dickerson, Josh Bell and Colin Moran ended the game with two hits each. Bell hit a walk-off double in the 10th, scoring Gregory Polanco and Moran.
The Pirates are off until Friday when they visit Cincinnati.
Prior to Sunday’s game, the Pirates sent outfielder Austin Meadows to Triple-A Indianapolis. Catcher Francisco Cervelli went back on the seven-day concussion disabled list. Infielder Josh Harrison left Sunday’s game with a tight hamstring.
The Major League Baseball All-Star game will be played in Washington Tuesday.
