Pittsburgh Pirates starter Charlie Morton won his fourth game in four starts this season last night in leading the Bucs to a 2-0 victory over Milwaukee. Morton allowed just three hits while pitching into the eighth inning to improve his record to 4-0. Pedro Alvarez hit his 10th home run of the season. It was a 438-foot shot that cleared the stadium.
Reliever Mark Melancon notched his 19th save of the season. The Bucs are off today and will host Philadelphia beginning tomorrow night.
