With two teams struggling the first half of the Sprint Cup season, Michael Waltrip Racing has swapped crew chiefs between its two teams. Brian Pattie will move over to work with David Ragan and the Number-55 Toyota team. Billy Scott will join Clint Bowyer and the Number 15. Bowyer is currently 17th in the point standings. Ragan 23rd as the drivers head to Michigan this weekend.
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel has rescinded the penalty that was assessed to Jimmie Johnson’s Number-48 Sprint Cup Series team last month after it had received written warnings from NASCAR after both Charlotte race weekends.
